Founded by the invertor of Air-Conditioning, Willis Carrier and with 2013 revenues of $63 billion, Carrier has operations in more than 170 countries. Carrier distributes to, and services its customers via a worldwide network of owned and independent distributors and dealers.

Midea is the world’s largest manufacturer, and outside of China, largely an OEM player. Its annual output is over 10 times India’s market size. The joint venture made in 2012 is part of an overall dual brand, dual segment strategy that the two are pursuing in emerging markets. While the Carrier brand is slotted in the premium segment, the Midea range is used to target the mass market for domestic applications.
On the other hand, for light commercial and VRF applications both the brands stand on completely individual platforms.

DRI Arctic range of Evaporative cooling units have been specifically designed for the cooling of industrial and commercial buildings.They are capable of lowering the fresh air-dry bulb temperature by 7-12°C, e.g.- the air-off temperature from the evaporative cooler for an outside temperature of 40-43°C can be as low as 28-30°C.
